“Getting my mother’s story” was told by Monique Polak at our storytelling evening, This Really Happened, on April 19, 2012 at the Blue Metropolis International Literary Festival in Montreal

In addition to teaching English and Humanities at Marianopolis College, Monique Polak is an active freelance journalist and the author of a dozen novels for young adults. Her YA novel What World Is Left won the 2009 Quebec Writers' Federation Prize for Children's and YA Literature and was released in Dutch earlier this year. Her next YA novel, Pyro, will be released by Orca this fall.
